Nitrous Oxide

Laughing gas, or nitrous oxide, is commonly used to reduce mild to moderate anxiety during dental procedures. It is administered through a small mask placed over your nose, helping to decrease anxiety, increase pain tolerance, and make time seem to pass more quickly. While under the gas, you will feel relaxed but remain awake and able to communicate with your dentist.

After your appointment, you will switch back to breathing regular oxygen, and the effects of the laughing gas will dissipate rapidly, allowing you to resume your normal activities immediately.
